Tonight...someone, somewhere is telling a funny story about the runner they saw

running in the rain and wind. So intent upon forging ahead, the runner was keeping her head turned down to keep the rain and wind from getting in her eyes. This was such an effective technique, that it also kept her from seeing the BIG, WOODEN, GREEN SIGN that was at her head level. She never saw it coming...she just hit it HEAD ON, so hard that it knocked her flat on her back, her hat flying behind her. She lay there for...however long, before she reached over to do the very most important thing a runner would do when faced with this trauma...she stopped her Garmin time. Then reached up to make sure that all of her teeth were still intact. Relieved that the jolt left her with a potential future smile, she reached up to check for the blood that surely must be pouring from her frontal lobe. No blood. So she got up from the muddy bed she was lying in, retrieved her hat, hit start on her garmin and ran 2.5 more miles to complete her 17mile LSR.
