Snakey and Me

A long time ago, in a lifetime far far away... Our family did karate for a few years. The sensei was a snake fanatic. Seriously. We went to his house for a BBQ and he had almost NO furniture. He did have one room entirely dedicated to his snake collection. Rare, poisonous, numerous snakes. and mice factories that provided fresh food for his crew. This all means absolutely nothing other than it's just weird.

For some reason, we decided to go to a reptile show with him in July of 2001. It was love at first sight. Ok, that's a stretch. I'm pretty sure the reasons we settled on Snakey went something like, A. I wanted to get the heck outta there. B. he was non-poisonous and C. he was cheap.

Being the incredibly creative people we are, we thought long (5minutes or so) and hard (not really) about naming the newest member of our clan. Snakey was a unanimous choice and easy to remember.

He was so cute.

That fall Snakey disappeared. The snake container went into the garage.

Spring of 2002, he was found in the office. We put him back in his container.

We moved to our new house in June of 2004 and Snakey immediately escaped. The snake container moved to the side of the house with our trash.

Late September of 2004, he showed up a few houses away. We put him back in his container.

Spring of 2008 Snakey bit me for the very LAST time! After Mike pried him from my finger, he threw him into the canyon.

Today, as I was minding my own buisness, sitting on the patio, look who has returned!

The snakey container is GONE.
